Bengals make three coaching staff moves, including getting outside help

The Bengals make three notable moves.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced a handful of coaching moves on Thursday, including the addition of a new arrival from outside the organization.

Cincinnati announced the promotion of Brad Kragthorpe to quarterbacks coach and Jordan Kovacs to secondary/safeties coach.

Kragthorpe takes over for Dan Pitcher, who got his own promotion to offensive coordinator after Brian Callahan joined Tennessee. Kovacs rises to his new role after Robert Livingston left to join Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes.

As for the outside arrival, the Bengals announced the hiring of Justin Rascati as pass game coordinator, a new role. Rascati spent time with Minnesota and Denver in various offensive capacities over the last few years after jumping to the pro level.

The two promotions were expected, though Rascati’s arrival is a surprise and hints at a desire to get some new ideas in the building and possibly a different handling of responsibilities for a coaching staff with a few notable changes going into 2024.
