Cincinnati Bengals legend Ken Anderson is officially on Twitter.

We’re using the word “officially” loosely though, as Twitter has yet to verify Anderson’s account, bestowing his online presence on the platform with a checkmark.

Anderson sees the humor in it though. While joking about waiting on verification, he even weaved in a Hall of Fame quip: “Still waiting to be twitter verified, starting to feel like something else I’ve been waiting for…
@verified is this about not having a Super Bowl win?”

Funny jokes aside, Anderson told The Athletic’s Jay Morrison the real reason for his sudden Twitter presence — The Ken Anderson Alliance:

“It’s all been for the foundation. My daughter-in-law (Jess) was going to take over our foundation Twitter account (@KAAlliance14) and try to build that up for us. Then she said, ‘What would really help it is if you get your own personal account and you can put links to the things on the foundation page and talk about the foundation that way to drive more people there.’”

We could go on for hours about Anderson’s Hall of Fame candidacy — and how he was recently unjustifiably snubbed again.

But really? Leave it to Anderson to hop on a social media platform with the purest of intentions.
