The Cincinnati Bengals might end up addressing tight end in the 2020 NFL draft regardless of what happens with free agent Tyler Eifert.

And it might be wise to remember the name Sal Cannella.

Despite playing at a program like Auburn, Cannella isn’t a household name. He finished last year with 10 catches for 188 yards and two scores, good for fifth on a team receiving chart that didn’t feature a player with 1,000 yards.

And yet, that resume sounds oddly familiar to a guy by the name of C.J. Uzomah, who didn’t have any notable stats before the Bengals drafted him back in the fifth round of the 2015 draft.

Per Cannella himself, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Bengals have been in touch.

If nothing else, it’s a small note to keep in mind on the chance the Bengals want some interesting upside at the position over the long term.
