The Cincinnati Bengals could have running back Chase Brown on the field in Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers despite his injured ankle, after all.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the ankle sprain Brown suffered while helping to secure the win over the Denver Broncos in Week 17 isn’t all that serious.
“My understanding is not a significant injury,” Rapoport said. “Actually does have a chance to come back this week and play in the game.”
The Bengals would love to have their breakout running back on the field with their playoff hopes on the line in the Saturday night primetime game. He’s rushed for 990 yards and seven touchdowns on a 4.3 average, catching 54 passes for 360 yards and four scores, too.
If not, the Bengals only have Khalil Herbert (acquired via that rare emergency trade at the deadline) and Trayveon Williams.
The Bengals visit the Steelers in Week 18 and also need losses by the Dolphins and Broncos to make the playoffs.
