The Cincinnati Bengals claimed two players on waivers Wednesday, adding defensive end Wyatt Ray and defensive back Nick McCloud.

Ray, 24, spent last year in Tennessee and over four games produced one sack. McCloud went undrafted out of Notre Dame and spent time with the Bills.

It’s no shock to see the Bengals add to the defensive line and secondary with these moves. Noah Spence didn’t work out after arriving in the wake of Joseph Ossai’s injury and the secondary continues to be a revolving door at the back end of the depth chart.

The move comes in the wake of the Bengals trimming the roster to 53 players before they begin the process of formulating a practice squad. We tracked every cut, which includes surprise names like Thaddeus Moss.

The Bengals will retain a superb spot in the waiver wire order through the start of the season.
