Behind Enemy Lines with Panthers Wire: Kyle Allen or Cam Newton?

The Panthers have lost two of their last three games since winning four straight when Kyle Allen took over at QB. What’s gone wrong over the past few weeks?

Cam Newton is reportedly open to a trade. Do you see the team moving on from him, and do you believe Kyle Allen can be a franchise QB?

PW: While I can understand why Newton might want a fresh start and a change of scenery, I would be very surprised if the Panthers actually do wind up trading him. He has one year left on his contract. At around $21 million, if he can get healthy that would be a bargain for an above-average QB these days. Allen is not a franchise QB and is unlikely to become one. He’s a good backup, and they should keep him around, though.
