Behind Enemy Lines: Texas A&M-Auburn Series Preview with Taylor Jones of Auburn Wire

In an interview with Auburn Wires’ Taylor Jones, we previewed the Aggie’s weekend road matchup vs. the Tigers.

The Texas A&M Aggies finally notched their first SEC series win against the defending National Champion Ole Miss Rebels last weekend with a little help from junior DH Ryan Targac’s game-winning home run in the final game of the series.

The Aggies will now travel to Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama to face the Auburn Tigers, who sit at 18-10 on the season, and 3-6 in the SEC, the same disappointing conference record as the Maroon and White. The Aggies and Tigers will start their three-game series on Thursday, April 6th at 7:00 p.m. CT, and will air on the SEC Network.

The Tigers are coming off their series loss on the road against the Florida Gators last weekend, knowing that a little home-cooking against a very up-and-down Aggie squad could be all they need to get back on track this season. The Tigers aren’t at all shy at the plate, sporting four players with .300 plus batting averages, yet the pitching staff has had its share of issues, Tommy Vail leads the team with 35 SO so far this year.

In an effort to provide you with the best preview possible for this crucial SEC series, we caught up with Taylor Jones, managing editor of Auburn Wire to provide his take on the action.
