Bears-Packers: Justin Fields didn’t like comparisons to Michigan in OSU-UM rivalry

For someone used to being on the winning side, you have to believe Justin Fields wants to change things in the Bears-Packers rivalry.

Justin Fields is no stranger to a big-time rivalry.

During his time at Ohio State, Fields was on the winning side of what felt like a one-sided rivalry against Michigan. Now that he’s with the Bears, Fields is on the losing side in the Bears-Packers rivalry.

At least for now.

The comparisons between the two rivalries — two of the best in sports — was expected. Especially given Fields has essentially flipped sides. Fields only played Michigan once at Ohio State, but the Buckeyes are 16-3 against the Wolverines dating back to 2000.

To say Green Bay has dominated this rivalry with Chicago would be an understatement. The Packers have a 19-3 record against the Bears since 2011, with Chicago’s last win coming in 2018.

So when reporters joked the Bears were the Michigan in this scenario, Fields didn’t appear to find it funny.

For someone who’s used to being on the winning side of a rivalry, you have to believe he’s determined to flip the script in Chicago’s favor. That could start as soon as Sunday when the Bears host the Packers for the first time this season.
