While it’s been a rough season for second-year wideout Anthony Miller, the last couple of weeks have been a launching point for the former Memphis product who is looking to establish himself in the NFL.
Miller is coming off a career game against the Detroit Lions, where he had a career-high nine receptions for 140 yards in a 24-20 victory. But it was more than the stats. It was the two clutch catches on third down on the Bears’ 90-yard scoring drive that gave fans a glimpse at the playmaker Miller could become.
Given Miller’s success in the last three games, how is his confidence heading into an important week against the Dallas Cowboys?
“It’s always to the roof, man,” Miller said, via Adam Hoge. “I feel like I’m always open and I can always make the play, always make the catch. So my confidence is always up there.”
It certainly helps that in the last three games, Miller has caught 20 passes for 371 yards.
“He’s working his tail off,” quarterback Mitchell Trubisky said, via the Sun-Times. “Last week with the short week, he was locked in mentally. We put a lot on his plate and he absolutely delivered.”
With receiver Taylor Gabriel out with a concussion, Miller should get even more opportunities to continue his connection with Trubisky as the Bears’ offense looks to breakout against the Cowboys come Thursday night.
