NFL football is back!
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of the start of the NFL season. Where every team is undefeated and expectations are the highest they’ll likely be for most of the season. Even for those teams that are destined to be watching the postseason from the comfort of their own couch.
The Chicago Bears certainly feel like one of those teams heading into the 2021 season. And yet, there’s an excitement for what this year has in store, which has everything to do with rookie quarterback Justin Fields, who might just be the answer to the quarterback woes in Chicago.
Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait a little bit to see Fields as it’ll be Andy Dalton getting the start when the Bears travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams on Sunday Night Football.
The Rams are 7.5-point favorites over the Bears, which feels right given the state of both teams. It doesn’t help that Los Angeles is 4-0 in season openers since Sean McVay took over and Matt Nagy could’ve been 0-3 in openers if not for a D’Andre Swift drop in the end zone last season.
As the Bears prepare for their Week 1 opener, host Ryan O’Leary (@RyanO_Leary) and myself (@AlyssaBarbieri) are previewing Bears vs. Rams and sharing our thoughts on Rodney Adams being waived from the roster (given it happened after recording last week’s episode).
