The Chicago Bears will open the 2023 NFL season at home against a familiar NFC North foe.
According to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, the Bears will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 3:25 p.m. CT at Soldier Field.
Chicago will also close out the 2023 season against Green Bay, according to Schneidman.
It’s the start of a new era for the Packers, who traded star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. Now, it’s Jordan Love time in Green Bay, which presents an opportunity for the Bears to get their first win in the rivalry since Dec. 2018.
Chicago has opened the season against the Packers four times since 2000, where they’ve gone 1-4. The last time the Bears and Packers started and ended the season facing each other was in 2006.
This will also be the first time since 2004 where Chicago and Green Bay haven’t squared off on prime time — unless the NFL flexes the Week 18 finale, should the contest have postseason implications.
