Quarterback Justin Fields is entering a pivotal third season, where he’s expected to make significant progress. After emerging as arguably the NFL’s best running quarterback last season, Fields needs to make progress in the passing game. Good thing the Bears built around him this offseason with the addition of receiver DJ Moore and shoring up the offensive line.
The quarterback room will look different this summer following the departure of Trevor Siemian. P.J. Walker was brought in to be Fields’ backup quarterback. Meanwhile, Nathan Peterman is back, but he’ll have to hold off undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent for the No. 3 spot.
The Bears have an impressive group of rookies this year, including several who are expected to be immediate contributors. That includes right tackle Darnell Wright, defensive tackles Gervon Dexter and Zacch Pickens, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, running back Roschon Johnson and wide receiver Tyler Scott.
