Bears injury updates on Eddie Jackson, Darnell Mooney

Things are trending in the right direction for injured Bears Eddie Jackson and Darnell Mooney.

The Chicago Bears lost another brutal contest to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which marked their 12th consecutive defeat. To make matters worse, there were a couple of key starters banged up in the process.

Safety Eddie Jackson and wide receiver Darnell Mooney both suffered injuries in the Week 2 loss. But things sounds encouraging for both Jackson and Mooney.

Jackson suffered a foot injury during the first half against the Buccaneers, and he did not return to the game. Head coach Matt Eberflus didn’t get into any specifics, but he said things look “positive.”

“I’m not sure where that’s going to trend to for this coming week, but I can say that it’s positive,” Eberflus said.

As for Mooney, the fourth-year receiver said he had a “nagging bruise” on his kneecap that he suffered against the Green Bay Packers. Mooney explained he couldn’t bend his knee, which is why he was held out.

“It kind of got re-aggravated in this game,” Mooney said. “I knocked knees with the nickel on one of the routes, and it kind of just wouldn’t go down. I kept trying to go, but it was annoying me, so I just got out.”

Mooney believes he will be “fine” for this week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. But we’ll have to wait and see about Jackson.
