Bears GM interviews will continue into next week

The Bears’ GM search continues into next week, where Morocco Brown will interview for the job on Monday.

The Chicago Bears are in the thick of their search for a new general manager and head coach, which has stretched into a second week. The Bears are one of four teams currently searching for both a GM and head coach.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bears’ GM search will stretch into next week, where they’re slated to interview Indianapolis Colts college scouting director Morocco Brown for the GM vacancy on Monday.

Brown served as the Bears assistant director of pro personnel from 2001-07, which means there’s definitely a connection there. Brown has been considered a prime GM candidate even dating back to last season, where he interviewed for Atlanta Falcons’ opening.

The Bears are one of four teams currently searching for both a GM and head coach, which means they could be at a bit of a disadvantage in terms of the hiring process at head coach. Chairman George McCaskey said they’d ideally like to have a GM in place before hiring a head coach.

Chicago still has quite a few GM interviews to conduct, including Steelers VP of football and business administration Omar Khan, former Texans GM Rick Smith, Chiefs executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles and Brown on Monday.
