The Chicago Bears kick off their three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, but one star player isn’t expected to be in attendance.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapport, pass rusher Robert Quinn isn’t expected to be present at minicamp. Rapoport notes that Quinn has been training on his own away from the Bears.
Quinn was absent for the entirety of the offseason portion of Chicago’s offseason program. Head coach Matt Eberflus previously expressed confidence that Quinn would be in attendance for the three-day mandatory minicamp.
Quinn is coming off an impressive 2021 season where he set a franchise single-season record with 18.5 sacks. And following Khalil Mack’s trade, Quinn is the top guy off the edge heading into the 2022 season.

There have been rumblings about a potential trade involving Quinn, as teams have expressed their interest in the 11-year veteran dating back to the NFL Combine.
A few weeks ago, CBS Sports’ Jason LaCanfora reported that there was talk that “Quinn wants out of Chicago” and that there’s continued interest from teams across the league.
The Bears have been adamant that they’re not trading Quinn. But could that change? Especially as Quinn has zero guaranteed money left on his contract with Chicago.
