Bears’ Andy Dalton will start Sunday’s finale vs. Vikings

Matt Nagy announced Andy Dalton will start the Bears’ season finale vs. Vikings as Justin Fields remains on COVID reserve.

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for their season finale against the Minnesota Vikings, where it won’t be rookie quarterback Justin Fields getting the start.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy announced that Andy Dalton will start Sunday in place of Fields, who remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Fields was previously in line to return to the starting lineup after missing the last two games with an ankle injury.

This will mark Dalton’s second consecutive start and his sixth of the season since joining the Bears last offseason.

This season, Dalton has gone 3-2 as a starter this season, with wins against the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and New York Giants and losses against the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals.

Unfortunately for Bears fans, they won’t get another look at Fields — in a regular season game — for the next eight months. But the good news is, there’s change coming to Halas Hall. Just how much, outside of Nagy’s impending firing, remains to be seen.
