When the New York Giants selected Darius Slayton in the 2019 NFL Draft, they may not have known what a late-round gem they were getting.

Since his impressive rookie season, Slayton has received high praise from Good Morning Football’s Nate Burleson, former teammate Eli Manning and now Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson.

Robinson took to Twitter on Monday night to compliment the Giants’ young receiver.

The timing is certainly interesting as Slayton had one of his quieter games on Monday night in the Giants 25-23 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hauling in five receptions for 56 yards.

But Slayton has seen his fair share of targets as he and Daniel Jones continue to develop a chemistry together. Between injuries and inconsistent target share this year, Slayton has been a constant for Jones to lean on.

Robinson, who started his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, is the Bears’ top receiver and had one of his best seasons last year with 98 receptions, 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Giants came out of last year’s draft with three first round picks and yet, out of all their selections, Slayton may be the most impressive to date.
