Be careful: Forspoken spoilers are all over social media

Story and plot details for Square Enix’s highly anticipated RPG are floating around online.

If you’re one of the many people looking forward to Forspoken – be warned: massive spoilers are already floating around on YouTube, Twitter, and other social media platforms ahead of launch. We’re not going into the specifics here – basically, consider this a friendly heads-up for anyone hoping to go into Forspoken spoiler free.

Yes, several key moments from Forspoken have leaked online – including the final boss and ending. Publisher Square Enix is already taking down most of the egregious spoilers off of YouTube and Reddit, but there are still random tweets and forum posts containing specific story details. Basically, be careful looking the game up online.

Forspoken is the second game from Luminous Productions, which previously brought us Final Fantasy XV in 2016. Recent promotional trailers highlight Forspoken’s “magical parkour” traversal gameplay and stylish third-person combat. There are some fairly big names behind it as well, like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story co-writer Gary Whitta and former Uncharted trilogy creative director Amy Hennig.

If that sounds appealing, then keep an eye out when Forspoken finally launches for PS5 and PC on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023. Square Enix initially delayed the game to October 2022, then pushed it again to January 2023.
