Baseball player amazingly introduced himself with a microphone in hand before his at-bat

Legend.

The Savannah Bananas are a collegiate summer league club in the Coastal Plain League, and in their brief history, their home games at Grayson Stadium have all been about entertainment.

And, apparently, that even applies to how players approach the batter’s box.

Who needs a walk-up song when you can have what Bill LeRoy pulled off on Saturday?

During a game against the Lexington County Blowfish, LeRoy — a catcher for University of North Georgia — walked to the plate with a microphone in hand to serve as his own hype man. Like, he literally introduced himself over the PA system before tossing the mic back to someone near the dugout.

I’ve never seen a baseball intro like that before.

After an introduction like that, you’d almost expect something crazy to happen in the at-bat — whether it be a hit by pitch or home run. But LeRoy ended up walking, according to the Bananas’ Twitter account.

We need to see more intros like that. Too good.
