When one of the all-time legends of the game compliments your performance, you know you are doing something right. On Sunday night, former Penn State running back [autotag]Saquon Barkley[/autotag] managed to pull off a play that caught the appreciation of the one and only Barry Sanders.
Sanders was a master of juking defenders right out of their shoes and breaking ankles on the football field, and few running backs have been able to mimic what Sanders was capable of doing during his college and professional career at Oklahoma State and the Detroit Lions. Some believe Barkley is about as close as we have come to a running back remotely close to Sanders.
On Sunday night against the Washington Commanders, Barkley had one of those moments that had Sanders blown away. A nasty spin move in the fourth quarter had Sanders recognizing Barkley for his performance.

Afterward, Barkley thanked Sanders for the tweet.

Who can blame Sanders for being impressed by Barkley’s latest moves on the football field? We’ve been watching Barkley break ankles for years and it never fails to impress.
