Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers eliminate Eagles from playoffs in 32-9 win

Mayfield threw three touchdown passes and the Eagles were unable to convert on third down the entire game.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ late-season collapse continued into the postseason. In the Wild Card round of the playoffs, they were outplayed in all phases of the game in a 32-9 road loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 337 yards and three touchdown passes in the win.

Philly only rushed for 42 yards on the night against Tampa’s defense. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had 250 yards passing and a touchdown pass but the Eagles did not convert on third down all night.

Including the loss to the Bucs on Monday, the Eagles, after starting the season 10-1, lost six of their final seven games.

It was a collapse that Arizona Cardinals fans recognize. It is what happened to their team in 2021. They were unstoppable early on, struggled late in the season and were blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
