The fans and the team were big fans of the throwback uniforms from the 2000 season honoring the 2000 team that made a run all the way to the final four. Now when the team takes on the Boilermakers Tuesday night, the uniforms will be brought back.
UW made the announcement via their social media on Tuesday after asking if they should bring the look back last night.

It is yet to be seen if they will be added as a permanent alternate but the fresh look is a welcome sight. As opposed to a team like Oregon or Michigan State, Wisconsin’s football and basketball teams have had a single look for road and away games.
Last time the Badgers brought out the throwbacks was when they welcomed Ohio State to the Kohl Center when honoring the 2000 final four team. The Badgers played well en route to a 70-57 where UW led by as much as 24 points at one point.
“They like how they look. They’re sharp, they like them and they feel really good,” head coach Greg Gard said when talking about why the team enjoyed the throwbacks so much.
“Typically when we go into a season and we have new uniforms, we always wear them in practice just so they can get a feel. So they’re tugging at them and getting a look at themselves in the mirror, how good they look in the uniforms,” Gard added. “I asked them if they wanted to wear them in practice and they said no, we already tried them on and they feel just like the regular ones we wear.
“I think they look sharp. The design people did a good job and it always helps when you play well in them,” Gard added.
The Badgers will be hoping much of the same magic carries over for the matchup with Purdue as they look to notch their third straight win.
