The Wisconsin Badgers football season is still a good distance away, but spring practice is on the horizon and therefore the intrigue for the 2024 campaign is heating up.
Amongst the teams that Luke Fickell’s squad is set to face off with in his sophomore campaign as head coach is Northwestern, who will be remodeling their football stadium and therefore, playing their home games at alternate locations.
According to Louie Vaccher of WildcatReport.com, Northwestern’s athletic director Derrick Gragg said that the Wildcats will be playing a home game at Lambeau Field (home of the Packers) in Green Bay this October.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that the game is guaranteed to happen, but in the end, if there is a team that it would make sense for them to square off with at Lambeau, it’d definitely be the Badgers.
FYI: AD Gragg told alumni in NYC last week that Northwestern will play a home game at Lambeau Field this year. He didn’t mention the opponent, but it would likely be Wisconsin on Oct. 19.
This smacks of 1991, when NU played a “home” game vs. Ohio State in Cleveland. 😒
