The college football season is slowly approaching and the Badgers are now 47 days away from their 2023 opener against Buffalo on Sept. 2. As Luke Fickell ushers in a new era of Wisconsin football, one of their 2022 linebackers will be launching his NFL career this year.
Nick Herbig wrapped up his UW career last season, recording 47 tackles, including a career-high 11 sacks, over 11 games. Over his three-year Badger career, he racked up a total of 134 tackles, including 21 sacks, with seven pass deflections, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The linebacker went on to be selected in the fourth round (132nd overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, joining second-rounder and Badger teammate Keeanu Benton.
