Yesterday, future Badger guard Johnny Davis took home the award for AP Player of the Year in the state of Wisconsin. This news comes just over a week after Davis was named the 2019-20 Wisconsin Mr. Basketball award winner by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
Davis led La Crosse Central to a 20-5 mark, and unfortunately was unable to finish off his quest for a state championship due to the cancellation of the tournament. The 6-4 swingman will be in Madison next year, and brings scoring ability that should translate right away at the next level.
This season, the senior guard averaged 27.2 points, good for the ninth best average in the state of Wisconsin. The awards just keep coming in for Wisconsin basketball’s 2020 and 2021 classes.
