About a year ago, veteran defensive tackle Mike Daniels threw out an Aaron Rodgers comparison for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Now he’s doing it again.
Hitting the airwaves in the days leading up to this year’s training camp, Daniels casually threw out the comparison, then had to elaborate when that comment took a segment on GMFB a bit off the rails:
“You know what I say about Joe Burrow man, that’s like Baby Aaron. I’m really looking forward to getting back with my guys here in a few days…
…you don’t see many rookies step into a locker room, you would think he’s like a four-year vet…to have that at the quarterback position, that means he has the right type of savvy, the right type of poise that you only see from guys like Aaron.”
Daniels is far from the first veteran player — on Burrow’s team or from another — to comment on his poise, attitude and leadership. He certainly won’t be the last.
And for what it’s worth, Daniels also had some really fun comments during the segment about Burrow being the savior and how passionate the team’s fanbase is.
If nothing else, here’s to hoping “Baby Aaron” has some staying power as a nickname.
"You know what I say about @JoeyB, that's like baby Aaron."
