Auburn is set to play Texas A&M in the quarterfinal of the SEC Tournament.

Auburn will play Texas A&M in the quarterfinal of the SEC Tournament Friday morning.

The No. 1 seeded Tigers are looking to pair their SEC regular-season Championship with a Tournament Championship while the No. 8 seeded Aggies are trying to prove they belong in the NCAA Tournament.

The Aggies (21-11) are fresh off an 83-80 overtime win over the Florida Gators on Thursday while Auburn has not played since Saturday when they beat South Carolina 82-71 to clinch the regular-season championship.

This will be the second time the two teams have played this season, Auburn won the first matchup 75-58 back on Feb. 12 inside Neville Arena.

That game was about Walker Kessler as Auburn’s center finished with his second triple-double of the season. The sophomore finished with 12 points, 12 blocks, and 11 rebounds.

He dominated the first half defensively, blocking seven shots as Auburn held Texas A&M to a 17.9 shooting percentage in the opening half. The second half was about his offense, he scored 10 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and grabbed eight second-half rebounds to complete the triple-double.
