An Auburn wideout who was not expected to play in 2022 has entered the transfer portal.
Sophomore J.J. Evans, who has acted as a reserve wide receiver and has yet to play a down for Auburn football across two years with the program so far, has entered the transfer portal according to his Twitter.
Evans was a four-star wideout coming out of high school, ranked on 247Sports as the sixth best wideout in the state of Alabama and the 169th best prospect in the nation overall for the class of 2020. He helped his high school team, the Montevallo Bulldogs, reach the 4A playoffs and caught 18 touchdown passes as a junior. On top of football, Evans also played basketball in high school.
Evans did not say where his potential transfer destination is, but thanked coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and his staff in his goodbye message and praised Auburn for helping him grow and surrounding him with great teammates.
