Auburn football has gained ground in national polls after earning a respectable win over Alabama A&M last Saturday.
The latest US LBM Coaches Poll has been released following the first full week of action in college football. Auburn just missed a top-25 ranking this week, but received 13 votes to remain in consideration for a spot in future weeks.
Texas A&M is the lone SEC team to lose a spot within the poll this week after losing a home game to Notre Dame, 23-13. The Aggies join Florida State as teams that were kicked out of this week’s poll. The Seminoles are 0-2 after dropping their second-straight game on Monday to Boston College.
Eight SEC teams have earned a spot in this week’s poll. Georgia remains at No. 1 while Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss round out the top five. Missouri checks in at No. 10 while Tennessee (No. 12) and Oklahoma (No. 13) represent the SEC in the top 15. LSU fell from No. 12 to No. 19 after losing to USC. Texas A&M and Kentucky join Auburn by receiving votes.
