Bo Nix will be entering his third season as Auburn’s starting quarterback when he takes the field against Akron on Saturday.

He was asked about the biggest thing that he added to his game after the offseason and going into the season. He mentioned his experience and knowing where to go to the football quicker than in years past.

“There’s just something different about having played two years and knowing the schemes of defenses, just understanding and recognizing a lot of things before the snap and I think pre-snap is where I will have the biggest significant difference,” Nix said to the media Tuesday. “Really, in my head, I’ll know exactly the situations that (the defense) can present and the defenses that they can possibly be in just because I can eliminate the ones that they are not going to be in.

“Mentally, just knowing where to go with the ball, knowing the defense, and after that, just knowing within our system where the ball should go. But the main part is just knowing what to do with each route combination and where to go with the football based on coverage. I feel really good about that.”

Nix and the Tigers will host the Akron Zips at 6:00 pm CST. The game can be streamed through ESPN+.
