Auburn makes shortlist for 2024 five-star forward

Auburn was one of the first programs to extend an offer to the 2024 product and is the overwhelming favorite to earn his commitment.

One of the top prospects from the 2024 recruiting cycle has listed Auburn among his top choices.

Airious “Ace” Bailey, a five-star small forward from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia dropped his top 12 college choices on Sunday. Auburn has made the cut alongside Arkansas, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.

Auburn reached out to Bailey early in his recruitment, becoming his fourth offer on August 29, 2021. Because of this, Bailey returned the favor by choosing Auburn for his first official visit on Sept. 16, 2022. He has also taken an official visit to Kentucky and has visited Tennessee and Georgia Tech unofficially.

How big of a chance does Auburn have at landing his commitment? According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Tigers are the overwhelming favorite. According to On3, Auburn has a 94.2% chance of signing him.

In a recent interview with Joe Tipton of On3, Bailey says that he likes Bruce Pearl’s ability to put players in the NBA.

“I like how they play, with their big guards like with Jabari (Smith), JT Thor. A lot of guys in my position, they’ve put in the league,” Bailey said. “A lot of people compare me to Jabari. Bruce Pearl is a tough coach. He coaches hard.”

Bailey is the No. 4 forward from the 2024 recruiting cycle according to On3, and the No. 1 recruit from the state of Georgia.
