Auburn falls seven spots in latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll

The Tigers just barely manages to crack the top 25.

It wasn’t a matter of if Auburn was going to fall in the newest USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll but a matter of how far. The Tigers suffered two disappointing losses last week, getting blown out by Texas A&M 79-63 at home and losing to West Virginia 80-77 on the road.

The Tigers (16-5, 6-2 SEC) ended up falling seven spots and are now the No. 23 team in the poll. Their highest ranking by any one coach was No. 14 and the lowest was No. 24.

They are one of three SEC teams to crack the top 25, with No. 2 Tennessee and No. 5 Alabama leading the charge. Texas A&M and Missouri received votes but not enough to be ranked.

Auburn will look to get back into the win column Wednesday when they host the Georgia Bulldogs (14-7, 4-4). The Tigers will be looking for revenge after falling to the Bulldogs 76-64 in Athens earlier this season.
