Auburn falls further from top 25 in latest Amway Coaches Poll

Auburn is riding a two-game losing streak after a 31-20 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday.

Auburn has a lot of work to do if it wants to be in the final top 25 of the 2020 season.

In the latest Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports, the Tigers fell even further out of the top 25, receiving just 42 votes, good for seventh in other receiving votes.

Gus Malzahn’s team dropped their second straight game on Saturday in a 31-20 loss to No. 5 Texas A&M. The Tigers had a 20-14 lead going into the final quarter but the Aggies ran off 17 unanswered points while holding Auburn to just 21 total yards.

At 5-4, questions are once again being raised on whether or not the Tigers should move on from the Malzahn era. The coach didn’t make life any easier for himself with a bizarre quote in his postgame press conference, stating that a four-loss season would be considered “solid” in a normal year.

Auburn has one game left in the regular season as the Tigers travel to Starkville to take on Mississippi State on Saturday.
