Auburn DB target Jalewis Solomon sets commitment date

The four-star athlete is down to Auburn, FSU, Kentucky, Texas A&M and South Carolina.

Four-star athlete [autotag]Jalewis Solomon[/autotag] is ready to wrap up his recruitment.

According to a report by Chris Nee of 247Sports, Solomon will be committing on Aug. 5. He will be deciding between Auburn, FSU, Kentucky, Texas A&M and South Carolina.

Listed as an athlete, Auburn is recruiting Solomon as a defensive back with secondary coaches Zac Etheridge and Wesley McGriff leading the charge.

He is the No. 211 overall player and No. 17 athlete in the 247Sports Composite ranking. The Ellaville, Georgia native is also the No. 29 player from the Peach State.

Solomon took official visits to South Carolina, Florida State and Kentucky during June and has taken several unofficial trips to Auburn and Texas A&M. While he hasn’t officially visited Auburn, he knows plenty about the campus and is the younger brother of current defensive lineman Zykevious Walker.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder starred on both sides of the ball for Schley County as a junior. As a receiver, he caught 86 passes for 1,210 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense, he totaled 29 tackles, four pass breakups, and three interceptions. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Auburn has already built an impressive defensive back class, landing commitments from four-star cornerbacks [autotag]A’Mon Lane[/autotag] and [autotag]Jayden Lewis[/autotag] as well as four-star safety [autotag]Kensley Faustin[/autotag] but is still looking to add on.
