Auburn continues to drop in Associated Press Poll

As postseason draws closer, Auburn basketball has now dropped for the second straight week in the Associated Press Poll.

Auburn basketball is continuing to drop in the standings with the newest addition of the Associated Press Poll.

The Tigers played in two top 25 games this week inside Neville Arena, to which many may be surprised, they split. They annihilated South Carolina by 40 on Wednesday, but then dropped its weekend game to Kentucky on Saturday. It would eventually drop them one spot to No. 14 in the rankings.

The Tennessee Volunteers stay put as the top-ranked SEC team in the poll in week 16, moving back up to No. 5 after wins over Arkansas and Vanderbilt. Alabama also moves ahead of Auburn after hitting the century mark twice last week in its victories over LSU and Texas A&M. No. 17 Kentucky, No. 20 South Carolina and newcomer No. 24 Florida put the conference as having six representatives.

The Tigers have a light week this week, but head on the road for another tough test in Athens when they take on Georgia on Saturday. Auburn needs all of the success it can get to make a big impression for the selection committee as postseason play nears.
