Auburn is ready to get back to conference play after a wild single game against the South Alabama Jaguars on Tuesday.
The Tigers are set to face off against the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, Texas, on Friday to begin a three-game series that will conclude on Sunday. This will be each team’s second SEC opponent of the year.
Auburn has started off play so far with a 15-6 record, but it hasn’t played premier competition too often this season. Its first SEC series came against the No. 1 Ole Miss Rebels, and Ole Miss won that series 2-1.
Auburn put in a strong performance in its 19-5 victory over the best team in the nation, which could offer some encouragement for the coming games. The Aggies would offer a nice opportunity for the Tigers to get back on track in conference play after dropping the Ole Miss series at home and getting blown out in both of their losses.
The Aggies, meanwhile, came out on top in their first SEC series against the No. 8 LSU Tigers, winning two of the three games. Texas A&M has had other struggles, though, losing a three-game series to Penn in February and dropping individual games to teams like Wichita State and Houston.
While the Tigers hope to bounce back with a conference series win, the Aggies are set on keeping the momentum from their LSU series going strong.
Auburn and Texas A&M’s first game on Friday will get started at 6:30 p.m. CT.
