There is good news, and even better news for Auburn Baseball fans heading into the weekend.
The good news is that the Tigers return to the diamond this weekend to open the 2023 season. The better news? Fans can see their favorite team begin the season two hours earlier than originally scheduled.
Auburn Athletics announced Monday that Friday’s season opener between the Tigers and the Indiana Hoosiers will now begin at 4 p.m. CT, up two hours from its’ original 6 p.m. CT time slot. Saturday’s game will still begin at 2 p.m. CT, and Sunday’s finale remains a 1 p.m. CT start.
Indiana is coming off of a 27-32 2022 campaign, where they finished 10-14 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers last made the NCAA Tournament in 2019, which was the final year of a three-year stretch where Indiana made the postseason.
According to D1Baseball, the Hoosiers are projected to finish No. 6 in the Big Ten in 2023. Indiana also has five players that could be top draft prospects over the next two seasons, starting with third baseman Josh Pyne.
Each game between Auburn and Indiana can be seen on SEC Network+ and will be broadcasted throughout the Auburn Sports Network.
