Auburn baseball absolutely boat races UAB 16-1

Bryson Ware leads the way as he drives in six for Auburn against UAB.

It was an absolute offensive explosion at Plainsman Park on Wednesday night. The baseball team fell down 1-0 early one before the Tigers even came to bat. Blazers’ first baseman Josh Sears flew out to center on a sacrifice fly that brought home leadoff hitter John Marc Mullins. That would be all the offense for the visitors. Mason Barnett would get his first win of the season allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in five innings of work.

UAB would use 10 pitchers on the night, none of which would pitch more than two innings. Thomas Ballard fell to 1-1 on the season after giving up three runs on five hits in two innings of work. Auburn struck in the second inning with Bryson Ware getting the scoring started. He laced a two-RBI double to bring Cam Hill and Cole Foster round to score.

After two it was 3-1 Auburn. Ware would drive in a total of six runs in this game. He also hit a bases-clearing double in the fourth but would get thrown out at third. Ware would eventually get his triple in the sixth inning when he brought Garrett Farquhar home.

The Tigers’ offense scored in every inning they came to bat in with the exception of the first inning. Jake Wyandt added three RBIs and Blake Rambusch had a pair of RBIs. Auburn will enjoy Thursday off before a four-game set this weekend against Rhode Island.
