On Thursday morning, Athlon Sports continued their season previews and predictions by looking at how Wisconsin’s 2022 season will play out.
The analysis boiled down to it being a make-or-break season for quarterback Graham Mertz as he leads Wisconsin’s offense for the third straight season. While they recognized that the Badger defense may not be able to live up to last season’s incredibly high standards, Wisconsin should still have one of the better defenses in the conference headlined by outside linebacker Nick Herbig alongside a new-look secondary.
Overall, Athlon Sports has Wisconsin as their preseason No. 19 team in the country heading into the 2022 season.
