Ashley Rogers leads Tennessee to victory over Missouri

Recapping Lady Vols’ win over Missouri Friday night.

Junior pitcher Ashley Rogers posted another stellar performance in the circle Friday night to help the Lady Vols find their way back into the win column.

Rogers surrendered just one hit and one walk in No. 16 Tennessee’s, 4-0, victory over No. 15 Missouri at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Rogers had five strikeouts against the Tigers (35-14, 13-9 SEC), who picked up their only hit of the contest when shortstop Jenna Laird singled in the top of the first inning.

The Lady Vols (39-10, 12-9 SEC) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Ashley Morgan singled home Kiki Milloy, who had three hits, a stolen base and two runs.

Ivy Davis had a two-run homer to make it 3-0 in the second.

The Lady Vols closed out the scoring when Chelsea Seggern’s single plated Milloy in the fifth.
