Already, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has become a part of the landscape in his new adoptive home. Fans around South Texas can’t wait to see the prodigy step on the court, and one local artist has already created a mural honoring Wembanyama in the heart of the city.
The piece in question was done by Michael Sanchez, who only recently began his work creating public works of art. He teamed up with the restaurant Mark’s Outing to create his masterpiece. And apparently, Wembanyama was intrigued by the new artwork, because the rookie recently paid Sanchez a visit to check it out for himself.
“Wow,” Sanchez said after meeting Wembanyama. “I was just amazed at how tall he is. I mean, it was just awesome.”
