Armando Bacot’s focus is on a bounce-back season for Tar Heels

Armando Bacot talks about the upcoming season and what Tar Heel’s legacy hopes to leave behind at ACC media day.

After a year of frustration and disappointment, the North Carolina men’s basketball program is looking for a bounce-back season.

A team with high hopes after a National Championship Appearance to finish the season by declining the NIT had many wondering if the magical run was a fluke. Armando Bacot, who is embarking upon his final season at UNC, experienced the memorable run and the forgotten season and is answering questions about what to expect this year.

During ACC media day, Bacot was speaking with NCAA analyst Andy Katz on what will make this season different from last.

We look at our scrimmage last week. The way we defend is going to be really encouraging,” Bacot said. “I think we play hard as a team, but that is just half the battle.”

Bacot was then asked about his Tar Heel legacy and what he hopes it ends up being.

“Hopefully, I am amongst one of the greats, but I got to win this year and get a lot of stuff done, and I have to get my numbers in the rafters, so that means 1st team, 2nd team, All American and ACC Player of the year. So, I gotta get one of those done to cement myself.”
