The Arkansas women’s basketball team was on the cusp of NCAA Tournament berth just over a week ago. And while it didn’t pan out, the Hogs have since played like a team upset they were denied.
Arkansas will host Texas Tech on Friday from Bud Walton Arena on the Super 16 in the Women’s NIT. Tip time is 7 p.m.
The Razorbacks rolled their first two opponents in the WNIT. Louisiana Tech shot 28% in Arkansas’ 22-point win in the first round. Samara Spencer then scored 27 to lead her team over Stephen F. Austin in the round of 32 to set up Friday’s game against the Red Raiders.
Like, Arkansas, Texas Tech looked the part of NCAA Tournament most of the season. The Raiders finished the regular-season with 10 losses in their last 13 games, however. In the WNIT, they’ve beaten SMU by 12 points and Texas-El Paso by 13.
