Arkansas up three spots in Associated Press poll

The Hogs made the biggest jump of all the SEC teams except for one.

It’s been a while since Arkansas football was ranked like this in back-to-back weeks.

The Razorbacks have started the 2022 season as such, though.

After opening the year ranked No. 19, the Razorbacks jumped three spots to No. 16 when the Associated Press poll was released on Tuesday. Arkansas beat then-No. 22 Cincinnati, 31-24, in both teams’ season opener. The Bearcats fell out of the poll, a de facto No. 29.

Arkansas will host unranked South Carolina on Saturday to open SEC play. The Gamecocks picked up two points in poll.

Other SEC teams dotted the rankings plenty. Alabama stayed No. 1 after a win over Utah State. No. 3 Georgia manhandled then-No. 11 Oregon, 49-3, and jumped a spot, even over Ohio State, which also won. Texas A&M stayed firm at No. 6, while Kentucky stayed at No. 20 and Ole Miss fell a spot to No. 24.

The SEC’s newcomer to the poll was Florida. The Gators went from unranked to No. 12 after beating then-No. 8 Utah in the season opener.
