Arkansas ranked 11th USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll after Texas A&M upset

Arkansas is ranked higher than it has been in a decade after beating Texas A&M on Saturday.

The hype is real.

Arkansas is now ranked as the No. 11 team in the nation.

The USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll was released Sunday and the Hogs are higher than they’ve been since….. Each week has seen Arkansas climb in the rankings.

The Hogs are 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the SEC after beating Texas A&M in the Southwest Classic in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday. The Aggies were ranked No. 5 in the poll entering the game, but have fallen to No. 13.

Other SEC teams inside the top 25 include Alabama (1), Arkansas’ opponent in Week 5, Georgia (2), Florida (9), Ole Miss (12) and Auburn (22).

LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri – Arkansas’ other remaining SEC opponents – were not ranked, though LSU was the top vote-getting team outside the Top 25.

After Georgia, Arkansas travels to Oxford in Week 6 and then hosts Auburn on Oct. 16.

The kickoff against the Bulldogs is 11 a.m. on ESPN.
