Arkansas native, Hogs wideout Landon Rogers hits transfer portal

At least seven wide receivers were ahead of Rogers in the Arkansas depth chart at wide receiver.

Landon Rogers has become the first Arkansas football player after spring practice to enter his name into the transfer portal.

Rogers spent two years in the Razorbacks program, playing just three snaps in one game in 2021. The injection of three wide receivers from the transfer portal and the development of last year’s group of freshmen at the position creating a difficulty for Rogers to find playing time going forward.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder was a quarterback at Little Rock Parkview in high school where he was a three-star recruit and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Arkansas in the Class of 2021.

With the Razorbacks, Rogers began as a quarterback, though he quickly shifted to tight end then wideout. It’s unclear what position he’ll focus on at his destination school.

Arkansas’ projected three-deep at wide receiver heading into the fall includes transfer Andrew Armstrong, Tyrone Broden and Isaac TeSlaa, second-year players Sam Mbake and Isaac Sategna, and carryovers from last year’s deep rotation in Bryce Stephens and Jaedon Wilson.
