Arkansas isn’t going to change course after one loss

Sam Pittman instilled confidence in his players and staff on Monday even after the 37-0 defeat at Georgia.

One thing that Sam Pittman said that stood out on Monday in his press conference was that he’s not going to fix the way the team is doing things even after the 37-0 defeat at Georgia.

”If I start to change the way I operate, that sends a message to the team that I am panicking,” Pittman said.

There is no reason for Pittman or his staff to freak out over a loss to a team the caliber of Georgia.

But what he said next is what should really resonate.

Ole Miss is a different animal from Georgia, and Pittman knows it.

Where the Bulldogs liked to ground-and-pound, Matt Corral isn’t going to only attempt 11 passes on Saturday.

Not that the Rebels won’t run the ball, as Pittman feels that Corral’s prolific arm overshadows their running game.

”Ole Miss is a great team and presents a good challenge for us,” Pittman said. “We are going to have to come up with some wrinkles on defense to keep them guessing.”

Pittman went back and watched the interview with Corral after last year’s game with the Razorbacks after he threw six interceptions, and knows he will be motivated on Saturday.

“The key is going to be to push the pocket so we can set the edge where he has nowhere to go,” Pittman said. “He will pick us apart if he has time to throw.”
