Arkansas hosts North Texas standout transfer Tylor Perry on Friday

Arkansas basketball hosted the 2022-23 Conference-USA Player of the Year on an unofficial visit Friday. What he could bring next year should excite fans.

After having already added four impact transfers this off-season, the Razorbacks were able to host one of the best shooters still in the transfer portal on a visit Friday afternoon.

North Texas guard [autotag]Tylor Perry[/autotag] announced on his Twitter that he would be in Fayetteville for a visit on Friday morning before tweeting out pictures of him in a Razorback uniform that evening. Perry announced on April 3rd that he’d be transferring from North Texas after an incredible 2022-23 season with the Mean Green.

The 5-11, 182-pound guard played in every game and averaged 17.3 PTS, 3.4 REB, 2.1 AST, 43.7 FG%, 41.3 3PT% and 87.2 FT% while playing 34.1 minutes per game. Perry’s phenomenal season landed him Conference-USA Player of the Year and NIT Most Outstanding Player honors.

Yesterday it was revealed that Perry’s list of potential landing spots was cut down to just eight schools, which included Arkansas. Alabama, Louisville, Ole Miss, Florida, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech are the other schools that Perry is considering.

Perry is arguably the best shooter in the transfer portal right now and would provide the Razorbacks with yet another deep range weapon. The backcourt for Arkansas is somewhat crowded at the moment, but a player of his caliber is someone that you make room for any way you can. Musselman has already had an incredible off-season with his portal additions, and it appears we’re far from finished.
