While we all have been worried about Nick Smtih Jr.’s future, Anthony Black is quietly still one of the best prospects for the upcoming NBA Draft.
Black was a part of Musselman’s stellar 2022 recruiting class, which was rated second best behind Duke. The Texas native came into Arkansas listed as a top-five prospect, according to NBADraftroom.com, but he is now listed to go No. 10 to the Toronto Raptors.
According to an article on Fan Nation, they believe Black is a good fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder, putting him in the backcourt with former Kentucky Wildcats guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Most of the players that Oklahoma City Thunder have chosen over the past few NBA drafts share a common trait: they can put the ball on the floor and make a decision while having the passing ability to find teammates on the move. Black’s size and skill set makes him a good fit for any NBA team. He is 6-foot-7 can shoot, defend, and his best attribute is his ability to run an offense. Adding Black to the Thunder gives them another ball-handler, which would allow Gilgeous-Alexander to play more off the ball, making him an even more deadly scorer.
If Black does go to the Thunder, that means he will fall out of the top ten to the bottom of the lottery if the season was to end today.
