Gumms entered the portal in March and was a top priority for the Arkansas coaching staff. The redshirt freshman hauled in 34 receptions for 458 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games for the Mean Green last season. Those stats earned him first team All-Conference-USA and second team Conference-USA All-Freshman honors.
Arkansas currently has a pair of highly-touted true freshman four-star tight ends on the roster in Luke Hasz and Shamar Easter. But Sam Pittman has not been shy with his desire to add some experience to that position group.
It’s been a big week for the Razorback on the recruiting trail as they’ve picked up four commitments for the 2024 class. Now, they were able to add some immediate help for next season’s team with the 6-3, 230-pound Gumms.
